Interview of Mrs. Sushma Devi (PGT - English)
Q1. What is your opinion on the importance of girls?
Girls are very important as we have read that the slogan " BETI HAI TO KAL HAI". Girls are not only girls, they are sister of someone, as sister they take care of their brothers and girls are also mothers, as mother they devote themselves for the sake of the children and as wife they look after their husband they share all the worries and joy of their husbands also , so girls they are also beauty of the house and we have read in Sanskrit also that
"YATR NARAYASYA POOJYANTE TATRA RAMANTE DEVTAH" it means that if the girls are in the house that home is a real home without a girl that is not a real home so girls are a beauty of a home, they keep the things in systematic places and the home is also is arranged and looked nice. The presence of the girl makes a real home.
Q2. Being a woman what can you do to save girls on your own level?
Being a woman I can motivate this scheme this campaign "SAVE THE GIRL CHILD" and it is happening also in my family. My sister also has two daughters and got family planning. Being motivated my sisters are working and being a teacher I am very close to students from 9th to 12th class. especially I want the girls they should concentrate on their studies as I have seen a real example in my life.So I can motivate for the education of girl child ,if they are educated they are matured.
Q3. In your views what are the consequences of our save girl child mission in future?
If this mission saving a girl child comes to news and is followed with the real spirit I think such type of crimes or cases like female infanticide, female foeticide can be conrolled .They may bring awareness among the people . So the people will start giving respect to girls and girls also be secure . The schemes run by the government "Ladli Laxmi Yojana",Free education for girls and some scholarships may also help to save the girl child. If this scheme is run sincerely, the future of the girls will be secured and if the girl is educated she will be able to earn something, she will not depend on her parents . If this campaign is followed in the same way like others the girls are saved, their future will be secured and sex ratio will increase and spread awareness among common people.
Interview of Mr. M.K. Rai (PGT - Chemistry)
Q.1. What is your opinion about a girl child’s position in the world at present and how it can be better in future at the global level?
As far as my knowledge is concerned the position of a girl child was not better but now I think it is going towards improvement. As far as the data is concerned in India it is 930 women for every 1000 men. The position in the world - some European countries have very good position of girls and there is no difference in boys and girls and there is no discrimination gender wise but as far as some countries which are developing or backward they also have suppressed position of girls and I can say these countries are not developed because of this only if girls are suppressed and these women are suppressed certainly they can't progress and therefore they are among the developing countries so certainly the girl child or I can say the women must get equal opportunities and all other facilities equal to men and the boys. Then only the country can progress. So the position of girl child is I think it should improve. If it is not, world cannot improve and I am very happy to see the data of last 10 years in India it is becoming improved as it is 930/1000 so, slowly- slowly it will be recovered. Government is there so I think it will be improved.
Q.2. Do you have any contact with any organization having the same motto or did you attend any seminar related to this?
As far as this compact of organization I don’t know but there are so many NGOs , organizations in India as far as the world which are working in this field and certainly the motto is very good. And they are doing well in this field and unfortunately I couldn’t get any opportunity because of this busy schedule to attend such type of seminar. Otherwise I know so many organizations which are working in this field.
Q.3. How can you contribute your part in this mission at your level?
See it is very important that everyone should have contribution regarding to this and how can I contribute I think that I must, not only I but everyone must spread awareness about the importance of a girl child. If the awareness is there then everything can go on smoothly. So the awareness is a must. If the people are aware about it then they don’t think that the boys are superior to girls until or unless if the awareness is not there then we cannot make it forcefully so this thing is to be included into their mind if this is not so, we cannot achieve the target. So the proper awareness is needed. In early time it was a slogan that “hum do humare do” slowly- slowly it is becoming “hum do humara ek ” even if it is a girl child then there should not be any problem and if the person comes to know that a girl child is not inferior in any way then this aim can be achieved easily.
